Catron County Prospect

We have acquired a lease of 1,320 acres in Catron County, New Mexico.

The production of petroleum in New Mexico has more than tripled since 1942. Large quantities of oil and gas have been found in northwestern and southeastern counties. Currently, the state is a top producer of oil and natural gas. In 2000, New Mexico produced approximately 10% of the nation’s natural gas supply and 65.4 million barrels of crude oil. New Mexico is the 2nd largest natural gas producer and ranks 2nd in natural gas reserves in the lower forty-eight states. It is the 6th largest producer of crude oil in the continental United States and ranks 4th in crude oil reserves. In year 2007, over 1200 new wells were drilled and the state produced 1.6 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and 65.4 million barrels of crude oil.

We plan to shoot several 3-D seismic on the property. Confirmation of structures will be followed by drilling.
